Burn’s Night: ‘It’s ma Birthday’
‘Why not come and gie it some ladly in Mahon’s Hotel.’
On Saturday 25thJanuary, Mahon’s Hotel presents Burn’s Night; a celebration of the work of Scottish poet Robert Burns (Robbie, Rabbie). The first supper was held by Burns' friends, on 21 July 1801, the fifth anniversary of his death. Since then variations of the supper have been in held, generally around his birthday on the 25th January.
Why not join us as we host an informal gathering to mark the occasion. Festivities will include a display of Highland Dancing, followed by the piping in of The Haggis, address to the Haggis by Seafra O’Heabhair. All this will be round up with a 3 course traditional supper including Haggis, Neeps and Tatties (alternative Scottish dishes will be available).
This event takes place from 7pm on Saturday 25th January. Tickets are available from Mahon’s Hotel, priced at £25.00.
