Mahons Hotel Staff Reunion – A Party to Remember (in aid of Palliative Transport Service)

Three generations of Mahons have kept the family business in the family name but Joe, Paul, Aisling and Terry are keen to remember that the hotels success has been down to their loyal and hard working staff.

Joe Mahon explains “We are welcoming all past members of staff that have worked in Mahon’s Hotel over the last 135 years back for one last work shift.  We reckon thousands of people have worked in Mahon’s over the years. Already we have one member of staff that left us 55 years ago that is coming to the party – she worked for my father at the hotel and helped my mother too.  In fact the lady in question changed a couple of Mahon nappies in her time”!

Joe continues “A lot of our ex staff have gone on to bigger and better things and we are proud to say we helped them along the road to their success. We know there are staff all over the world that trained in Mahon’s Hotel and we would like to see them all back for this special occasion.   There are several families in Irvinestown and the surrounding area that have had generations work at Mahons. Mums, Dads and children have all spent time here.  We know that in one family, 9 members of staff have worked here over the years”

Our 135th anniversary staff reunion party will be a fun-filled night with entertainment and refreshments served.  Malcolm Coulter will be performing from 8.30pm and a Mahons regular, James Peake will get the party really going at 10.30pm.

Joe concludes “On the night entrance will be free however we would like to take this opportunity to raise some much needed funds for the Palliative Transport Service in in honour of one very loyal customer.  We are looking forward to hosting a party to remember”
This reunion party will be hosted on the longest day of the year and its Joes birthday so even more time to party and plenty of reason to celebrate. For more details check our facebook page or visit would website.
