BAR & LOUNGE
The bar and lounge areas all have a unique atmosphere of their own. Blessed with olde world charm, they are adorned with artifacts of a bygone age that have been collected and treasured throughout the 138 years that the Mahon family have been entertaining their guests.
Why not relax and unwind in our bar and lounge area. You can sit back and listen to the entertainment provided every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. During the summer months we often offer additional music during the week. Check our timetable for times & musicians. You can meet up with friends and family in a more casual environment and enjoy drinks and food in a bar area soaked in history. The Lunch Menu and Ala Carte Menu are served in the bar area also.

This is no regular bar, what you see in the hotel today has been extended and revamped, but the historical significance is very much a firm part of the hotel culture. The Front Bar was once three stores: Barney McElholm’s Drapery, John Ruddy’s Photography and John Ruddy’s Fishing Tackle. This was transformed in the 1960’s to the bar we know now.
In those days the corner area which leads into our back bar area would have been the original bar. The back bar area would have been part of the farm, and the conservatory council land. This is all now areas where you our customers can come to enjoy both indoor and outdoor dining and drinking.
Take some time and peruse the photos in the bar and dining areas, they truly tell a story of changed and changing times. If you can catch Joe at a quiet time, he will be able to tell you some wonderful tales of times past and the development of the hotel.
For larger entertainment crowds we often host concerts in our Delany Suite. This once garage, then cinema and now our banqueting hall has played host to many big names throughout the years including Bagatelle, Philomena Begley and Nathan Carter.
